The recently published amendments to part
F (Conservation of Fuel and Power) of the
Building Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2000
are now in force.
BSRIA and Anderson Mechanical Services have
produced an essential guide to both Parts
F1 and F2 of the Building (Amendment) Regulations
(NI) 2006.

testing

Why
test and what is involved?
The quality of building construction,
especially the amount of air leakage
has a huge impact on occupant comfort
and energy costs.
As
part of the drive for greater energy
efficiency the amended Building Regulations
will specify a maximum air permeability.
Anderson Mechanical Services offers
an easy way to meet this requirement.
The
pressure testing process supplies air
to a building at a variety of air flow
rates and measures the resulting pressure
differentials across the building. Internal
and external temperatures and barometric
pressure are also measured to provide
corrected airflow rate measurements. |
 |
The
measurements will be verified on site and
results given. A full report is then issued,
which will be required by Building Control
Officers for Part F compliance.
Our affiliation
with BSRIA means any size of test can be accommodated
with access to testing equipment ranging from
single-fan blower door systems for dwellings
to mobile fan-Rover vehicles for large offices,
warehouses, superstores etc. Additionally,
design professionals can take advantage of
our consultancy/drawing review service for
advice on specifying and detailing.
